BlackCat All-Stars Scenario Team
BlackCat Paintball Productions is forming a scenario team of their own for the 2007 season. Kitty and I have decided that we need to play more often so following successes such as OK D-day 2004 and The Walls of Troy, we will be forming The BlackCat Allstars Scenario Team.

Our plan will be to collectively vote on 3-4 games for the 2007 season that they, the team as a whole, can attend.

BlackCat will provide all of the jerseys for those who make the team, transportation to and from Lumpy's in the schoolbus or pickup along a common route. Provide radios and the use of the BlackCat trailer to the team along with all the BlackCat props. Wholesale pricing on equipment. In addition, BlackCat will pay partial entry for each member. Many more benefits will be available once more details and sponsors and events have been finalized.

Tryouts for the BlackCat Allstars will be on November 19th starting at 9:00am and ending at approximately 6:00pm. (Depending on the amount of applicants.) An application will be posted on the BlackCat website and in the forums for dowloading and mailing in. Your application will need to be submitted and received no later than November 15th along with a $5 application fee.

Everyone is invited to attend and try out for the team, however, only 12-14 of the best will be chosen. The team will consist of members from across the country and not limited to just players in our immediate region.

To make this more fun we will be hosting a 6 hour Mission Based Big Game on Saturday, November 18th. The entry fee for this event will be $15 pre-registered by November 14th with a $15 credit towards the purchase of a case of paint. Paint prices start at $45 a case for White Box and $55 a case for Premium. Unlimited CO2 and HPA will be $10 for the day. So in other words the cost to you is only $55 with paint and air if you purchase white box and $65 if you purchase air and Premium paint.

This will be a mission based event where the generals will have a list of missions ahead of time that they must complete throughout the game at certain times. Medics, engineers and props will be a part of this event.

Look for the storyline and information to be posted to Lumpy's Website ( www.academypaintball.com ) next week.

Any further questions about this event or the tryouts can be posted here and I will answer them after we come back from AZ.

I decided to wait until after noon PST to give our West Coast players every last benefit of every last doubt. I apologize for the delay in "the verdict".
Unfortunately, it is with a heavy heart that I must be the bearer of bad news. . . "Beach Blanket Bunker Bonanza" is cancelled.
Spiro and I tried every which way to make this event a go; we made a slew of phone calls, sent countless emails, extended the pre-registration deadline twice, and tried a myriad of other approaches, but we were unable to spark the minimum number of additional registrations needed to make this event happen. I also apologize for the late cancellation, but, again, we wanted to give our West Coast players every opportunity to pre-register.
We will contact every player or team captain by phone (if your phone number was provided to us on registration forms) to let you know the sad news personally, but to also let you know the special offer we have for each already-registered player. We appreciate each one of you.
Refunds will follow the refund policy listed on our website.

Game Added to Schedule
Many rumors have been flying around concerning the IAO for 2006. At this time we cannot comment on whether there will be an IAO this year. However, we have talked to Debra and Ryan and we have decided to have a BlackCat Scenario Event at Three Rivers Paintball complete with vendors and such some time in July. An exact date and storyline will be posted in the upcoming weeks.

In an effort to expand scenario paintball through scenario teams, we are offering this section of our website to scenario teams and their members.

Our goal is to provide an ever-expanding list, by state, of scenario teams. We invite scenario teams to submit their bios and a team photo to this site. BlackCat, in turn, will create one webpage for your team with a link back to your team’s website, if applicable. The benefits of your submission are many: you will, of course, increase exposure of your team (this website averages over 1.4 million hits per month and over 19,000 unique visits per month), and you will have the opportunity to network with other scenario teams. In addition, if you are a team that frequents BlackCat events, we would be happy to provide a forum for you and your teammates on our website so that you can communicate with your teammates and other scenario teams via our website. This offer is just another way for BlackCat to say thank you for supporting the great sport of scenario paintball!

Bring your team to a whole, new level in 2006! BlackCat Paintball Productions is hosting a “Become the Producer” contest for scenario teams. All scenario teams, coast to coast, are invited to enter this unique contest in which one, lucky team will win the opportunity to produce a scenario event in conjunction with BlackCat Paintball—with profit sharing to boot!

All contest parameters and requirements are available on BlackCat’s website. In a nutshell, teams are asked to submit a proposal: a storyline, list of props, outline of missions and role cards by January 31, 2006. An objective panel of judges will review each proposal, select a winning team, and that team will produce their event at either a Western or Eastern location (depending on that team’s location). The winning team will have use of BlackCat’s production trailer, equipment and will have plenty of BlackCat personnel support. In addition, a percentage of the profits from the event will go to the winning team. Finally, Paintball Sports will provide exclusive magazine coverage of the winning team and the event by the Editor, Dawn Allcot, complete with a five-page magazine story and an entire box of magazines in which that story appears.

This is a rare opportunity for a scenario team to refine their skills by participating in a scenario event from the “inside”. They will also have the opportunity to participate in the marketing of the event, the set up of the event and experience after-event activities.

More sponsors will come “on board” as the contest draws to a close and the event nears.

We will be using a credit card processing company and will be able to accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express as well as E-Checks. What does this mean for you? It means that not only will we be able to accept all of these payment methods through our online store but we will be able to accept payment over the phone and at our hosting fields from now on. More information will be forthcoming, however, you can read more about the complaints against PayPal and their insecure methods here. The scenario event. "The Dukes of Hazzard", at the IAO was a HUGE success. With almost 450 scenario players in attendance from as far away as California. I would like to thank all those who participated in this event and helped make it such a big success. To all of the players, sponsors and our staff. Thank you.

The Dukes of Hazzard held in conjunction with the International Amateur Open at the Butler Fairgrounds in PA is fast approaching. Currently we have over 45 teams signed up. It is not too late to sign up for this event.

Do not forget that we will be holding a Daisy Duke Look-A-Like Contest on Saturday during the dinner break. First place winner will receive a Tippmann Custom 98 compliments of BlackCat Paintball Productions. This contest is open to both men and women, so get out those too small, short shorts and get ready to have some fun.

Come join Spiro "BlackCat" Mamaligas aka Spiro McMamaligas, leader of the McMamaligas Clan as he does battle against his wife, Karen "Kitty" Mamaligas aka Karen "Kitty" Taylorfield, leader of the Taylorfield Coo on July 2-3 at Professor Lumpy's Paintball Academy in Smithfield, Ohio. This is a family weekend NOT designed around paintball alone! For years we have been producing scenario paintball games and this time we wanted to create an event that is FAMILY ORIENTATED. This is the opportunity to bring the whole family so they can be part of the weekend festivities. On Saturday we will have continuous games all day such as pie eating contests, paintball eating contests, baby changing relays, volleyball, "bat" mitten and many more. Dinner is included both Saturday and Sunday as well as a fireworks display on Sunday evening after the 8 hour scenario event, Taylorfields vs. McMamaligas. Free camping beginning Friday evening straight through Monday evening if you wish. Come join us for this Fourth of July, Independence Day celebration for only $45 per person if you wish to play in the 8 hour scenario game on Sunday or $30 if you just want to camp, eat food, play in the games on Saturday!

Registration deadline for Empire Approaches has been extended until Saturday, May 28th. Please remember that the registration must only be POSTMARKED by this date in order for you to receive the discounted entry fee. For those who live near Outdoor Adventure you may register in person until this Sunday, May 29 and still receive the discounted entry fee.

Police Academy, scheduled for May 21 and 22 has been postponed. The new date is to be in October. Watch the website for more information.
